Hello and welcome to my art page!

I’m Yvette, though my family calls me Yvetka. It’s a sweeter way of saying my name in Ukrainian. I was born in Estonia, lived in The Netherlands, and immigrated to Montreal, Canada when I was five years old. Later in life, I also lived in Los Angeles and Shanghai. I speak five languages, including Ukrainian, Russian, French, English, and Spanish.

Being immersed in various cultures from a very young age established a profound appreciation for linguistics. This led to becoming an English as a Second Language teacher for a few years in conjunction with being a serial traveler. My world adventures certainly made me enjoy the charm of the small things on a deeper level.

Art, however, has always been in my soul. As a child, I would constantly draw, and paint, and create things. As I grew older, my focus shifted to academics. Seven years ago, I rediscovered my creative side and reignited my passion for painting. Now, while I still work in the field of education, art is my true calling, and I dedicate my free time to making it come alive.

My work combines elements of culture, language, and philosophy in an abstract style. I mainly use acrylic paint and modeling paste to play with colors, textures, and shapes, resulting in elegant, modern pieces. My focus is on creating paintings for public spaces, such as restaurants and hotels, as well as custom pieces for homes. I love collaborating on custom requests, weaving your vision with my artistic touch.

When I’m not painting, I enjoy discovering uncharted travel destinations, experimenting with recipes, hiking new trails, and dancing to groovy tunes. If you have suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope my creations bring you bliss!

With love, kindness, and patience,
Yvetka
