In the summer of 2019, I met Roberto Mangoni at Bar Georges in Montreal. He was from Ontario and had met his business partner in Montreal. I was also accompanied by someone and we all started chatting since we all sat close. He shared that he was opening an Italian restaurant in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. I responded that I made paintings. A year later, Roberto was ready to talk art. I had never created such large pieces before, but I agreed without hesitation. And now, we can find FOGLIAME (5x14ft) and ALBERO (5x16ft) at Che Figata restaurant! Since its opening, I have been to the restaurant twice. Now, I’m not saying that the food is delicious because that’s where my art resides, but the food truly is delectable! And the decor, well, it’s splendid!
